Positions at VAVlab

  • The CARERA Project
    The project goal is to develop medical content based case retrieval (CBCR) systems. This is an extension of the popular content based image retrieval (CBIR) methods. The major difference is that we work with 3D data and aim at retrieving 'cases' for diagnostic purposes. The basic topics are segmentation, shape analysis, ontological representations, multimodal similarity and database indexing andquery/retrieval interfaces. The project is run in collaboration with our international partners. Positions for Post-Doc researchers and PhD students are available. Good C++ programming background is a plus.
  • The DTInteract Project
    The project involves research on visualization and analysis of DTI (Diffusion Tensor Magnetic Resonance Imaging) for human brain connectivity analysis and fiber tractography. The candidate will work in a team to develop DTI software for clinical use. The project is run in collaboration with our international partners (Germany). Good C++ programming background is a plus.
  • The ViRaD Project
    This is an industry driven project that involves development of an easy to use, custom built radiological diagnostic workstation integrated with a PACS and with teleradiology capability. The major research problems are Human-Computer Interfaces for 3D Radiological Data, Fast and Remote Access to DICOM Data (inc. 3D compression algorithms) and 3D Visualization. The project is run in collaboration with partners from the industry. Good C++ programming background is a plus.

Short-term Internship and Post-Doctoral Researcher Positions at Siemens Research Center, USA

The successful candidates will join the CAD (Computer Aided Detection/Diagnosis) group at Siemens. The possible fields of research include, but not limited to, CAD for Virtual Colonoscopy (CTC), CAD for lung nodules, CAD for mammography, etc.
